3.0.1 Out…

Ugh. I made a big boo-boo with the deletion part of my upgrade code — I put it inside of the processing loop, instead of right outside of it. So, all the data went away before the conversion was complete; only one series would ever get upgraded out of any installation. I have fixed that bug, and a couple others, and actually have an empty bug database once again. :)

Note that this plugin works only with WordPress 2.1 right now. Do not install it if you aren’t running this version; it will just complain about not having get_the_ID() available.

This version should be much safer than the last. Still, I highly recommend that you back up your database before installing!

Get In Series 3.0.1.

(Huge apologies go out to anyone who lost data with 3.0.0. I have removed all the links to that release.)

Are the TOC and Next/Prev going to be a permanent fixtures in multi view or will there again be an option for single view only ? I would likely have several posts right in a row belonging to the same series and the in-series links would be repeated all over my front page. I kinda like having the TOC and other links in the single view only.

I’m going to install the new version over the next few days and toy with the new features.

The links showing up everywhere is a temporary thing; I fully intend to have separate formatting sections for multi-view, and single-view. It just got implemented this way to hit the deadline, and to provide the folks who have been waiting for tables of content in multi-view with something to tide them over. Again, this is just temporary, until 3.1 rolls around (which really shouldn’t be that long). 3.0.0 is mostly just to encapsulate “the rewrite.”
